Hi, my name is Lucy and I've been teaching and tutoring English for the past four years.

I specialise in teaching for the transfer test (11+ and SEAG), GCSE English, A-Level English and English as an Additional Language.

I began my teaching journey in Northern Spain in a Primary and Secondary school and came to love exploring the funny nuances that make up the English language with my students. I still teach English as an Additional Language and also tutor students in England and Northern Ireland who are preparing for the 11+ or SEAG exam, or students that want some help with their GCSE or A-Level English.

I love to learn and enjoy sharing this passion with my students and those around me. I am interested in the impact our environment and opportunities have on us which led me to gaining a BA in Criminology in 2011 and a Joint European MA in Human Rights and Genocide Studies in 2013. I then helped establish the charity Never Such Innocence where I became Director; I created resources and ran workshops to engage children and young people in reflecting on their history through poetry and art. After my time in Spain to gain more classroom experience I am now pursuing a PhD with the University of Bristol on politics and education.

I have extensive experience with students of all ages and create a supportive environment where my students feel safe and can be themselves. We work as a team!

My classes are always student-centred, I work together with my students to achieve their learning goals and build confidence in their abilities.

Every class is tailored to the goals and learning style of each student and most importantly, we have fun :)
